The document shows overall normal signs of wear. It's named to Obergefeiten Anton Froitzheim who served within Grenadier Regiment 332. This regiment was formed in December 1939 as Infanterie Regiment 332. It was part of the 197.Infanterie-Division.
It saw its first combat during the invasion of France. After that the division and her units operatd a coastal defence in Zeeland, the Netherlands and also prepared for the invasion of England, but this never took place.
From June 1941 onwards it fought on the eastern front in areas like Smolensk, Gshatsk, Rshew and Witebsk.
