Nice 3-piece Grenadier Regiment related Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2.Klasse award document grouping in used, but very good
All document show overall normal signs of wear. They belonged to Obergefreiten Johannes Jahnke served in the 9.Kompanie Grenadier Regiment 333. This regiment was formed in late August 1939 as Infanterie Regiment 3333 and was part of the 225.Infanterie-Division. In October 1942 the regiment was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 333. In Russia it operated in the areas of Wolchow, Leningrad, Demjansk, Wolchow, Narwa (Estonia) and later Kurland.
The document is signed by Generalleutnant Walther Riße und Kommandeur der 225.Infanterie-Division. Walther was wearer of the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold, Ritterkreuz zum Eisernes Kreuz, Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub and a lot more.
Johannes survivd the war, hence the Certificate of Discharge document. There is also a document from the Bundesarchiv called a 'length of service designation'. It shows a lot of interesting details of Johannes during his time as a soldier.
