A nice 2-piece set of Wehrmacht Artillerie related award documents in good condition.
Both documents show overall normal signs of wear. They were issued to Obergefreiten Rudolf Behn who served within the Stabsbatterie schwere Artillerie Abteilung 422.
Schwere Artillerie Abteilung 422 was formed in late August 1939 and part of the XXII.Armeekorps. It was put into action during the invasion of Poland in September 1939. In May 1940 it participated in the invasion of Belgium and pushed through to France. Nearly a year later, in April 1941, it participated in the fighting in the Balkans (Yugoslavia) and from June 22nd onwards it participated in the invasion of Russia were it fought in areas like Dnjepr and Smolensk.
