The documents shows overall normal signs of wear. The Infanterie Sturmabzeichen was awarded on 21 Januari 1942. Kurt served in the 12.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 504. This regiment was formed in February 1940 and was part of the 291.Infanterie-Division. With this division the regiment saw little combat during the Westfeldzug, invasion of France. In June 1941 the division and her units participated in the invasion of Russia. It fought in areas like Leningrad, Wolchow and Welikije Luki. During the winter of 1942/1943 Grenadier Regiment 504 was disbanned due to heavy losses. The other 2 documents are certificates. A leadership certificate and service certificate. Kurt served in the Wehrmacht from 12.05.1940 - 23.03.1943. Both document have been signed by the Hauptmann und Kompanie-Chef of the Stamm-Kompanie Grenadier Ersatz Bataillon 2. This bataillon supplied soldiers to Grenadier Regiment 504. Kurt probably served within this Stamm-Kompanie to train new recrutes in his last months serving the Wehrmacht.
