The document shows overall normal signs of wear. Folded in the middle. The Infanterie Assault Badge in silver was awarded on 5.Oktober 1942. Heinz served in the 2.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 668. This regiment was formed in in March 1942 in Reims, France. It was part of the 370.Infanterie-Division. In June it was moved to Russia were it was first put into action in the Mius area. Later it fought in areas like Rostow, Kaukasusm, Kuban and Cherson. Mid October the regiment was renamed Grenadier Regiment 668.
In August 1944 the regiment got destroyed as part of the 6.Armee.
