Details

The document shows overall signs of wear. Folded but its solid. The Infanterie Sturmabzeichen was awarded on 16 September 1942. Hans served in the 11.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 501. This regiment was formed in Februari 1940 and was part of the 290.Infanterie-Division. With this division the regiment saw combat during the Westfeldzug, invasion of France. In June 1941 it participated in Operation Barbarossa. It fought in areas like Ilmensee, Smolensk, Ladogasee, Newel, Kurland. In October 1942 the regiment was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 501. The document is signed by the major und Regiments-Führer Alberts.
