Erwin earned the Ritterkreuz on the 27th of May 1940 as commander of the 7.Panzer-Division, the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub on the 20th of March 1941, the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwerten on the 20th of January 1941 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub,Schwerten und Brillanten on the 11th of March 1943. Besides these awards Erwin earned a lot more.
