Very nice and hard to find Regiments Stab level related id-tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erknnungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It's belonged to a NCO/CO who served within the Regimentsstab Infanterie Regiment 87. This regiment was formed in October 1935. The Regimentsstab was formed in Aschaffenburg. in October 1936 the regiment became part of the 36.Infanterie-Division and saw its first combat during the invasion of France that took place in May 1940. In November of that year the regiment became motorized. During the invasion of Russia the division and her units operated in the Pleskau and later Leningrad area. It saw also combat in Dorogobusch, Smolensk and Bobriusk.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldiers' bloodtype.
