Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier/NCO who served within the Stabskompanie III.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 279. This regiment was formed in September 1939 and was part of the 95.Infanterie-Division. It saw its first combat during the invasion of France. In late June 1941 it moved to the east to participated in the invasion of Russia. It fought in areas like Kiev, Brjansk, Kursk, Rshew, Gomel and more.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
