Very nice Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but very good conditon.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in th 7.Gemischte Schützen Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 398. This regiment was formed in late august 1939 and was part of the 216.Infanterie-Division. It saw its first combat during the invasion of Belgium and then in France. It stayed in France, as an occupation force, till December 1941 and was then transported to the Russian front were it fought in areas like Brjansk and Juchnow. In June 1942 the regiment was disbanned.
