The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Eisenbahn Ersatz Batterie 800. This unit was formed in September 1939 in Rügenwalde and was equipped with the Eisenbahngeschütz Leopold 280mm! It was linked to the Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 100 motorisiert which, in September 1940 became Lehr- und Ersatz-Abteilung für Eisenbahnartillerie (motorisiert) 100.
