Very nice Panzer Aufklärungs related Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse award document in used, but very good condition.
The document shows overall normal signs of wear. It folded, but solid and no damages. It's named to Oberfeldwebel Heinz Schwittay who served within the 2.Kompanie Panzer Aufklärungs Abteilung 122. This abteilung was part of the 22.(LL.) Infanterie-Division. This division saw its first combat during the invasion of the Netherlands. After that it moved to Rumania and then Russia. In August 1942 the division and her units moved to Afrika. After the Afrika campaign had ended it moved back to Crete and Greece.
The document is signed by the Generalleutnant und Kommandeur LXXXXI.Armeekorps Werner von Erdmannsdorff. Erdmannsdorff was a highly decorated officer. He was captured by the British troops, handed over to Yoguslavia and executed in Juni 1945 by Partisans.
