Very nice Luftwaffe Bau related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the Luftwaffe Bau Kompanie (mot) 11/IV. These bau units were formed in 1939. The '2.W.' stands for 2 Welle or 2nd (mobilisation) wave that took place in the 1939 before the invasion of Poland. The 'IV' is the Luftgau number.
The Luftwaffe Bau Kompanies were established in 1939, primarily composed of personnel from the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD), older conscripts with technical training and later prisoners of war and foreign volunteers. Their main tasks included building and maintaining airfields, runways, and other facilities essential for the Luftwaffe's operations.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
