Very nice hand carved Luftwaffe related wall plaque in excellent condition.
The plaque shows overall normal signs of storage wear. The image is neatly cut out from 1 piece of oak. It depicts 2 Luftwaffe soldiers working. One is holding a hammer and the other one is holding a wooden pilar. They are wearing their Schiffchen and Fliegerbluse with collar tabs, rank chevron and shoulder straps.
On the back we see that it was made during Christmas 1943 and probably for a member who served within the 3.Komapanie Luftwaffe Bau Bataillon 1/IV. This unit was formed in the winter of 1941/42 and operated in Luftgau III.
The piece measures 34cms*50cms*5cms and weighs more then 4kgs!
