Details

The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 2.Kompanie Bau Ersatz Bataillon 3. This bataillon was formed in late August 1939 in Crossen an der Oder. It trained and supplied soldier for dozens Pionier related units such as Straßen-Bau-Bataillons, Heeres-Baupionier-Brigade, Stellungsbau-Pionier-Bataillone and a lot more.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
