The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 3.Kompanie Bau Bataillon 232. This unit was formed in late August 1939 from RAD men, which was often te case with Bau units. At the beginning of 1940 the bataillon became a Luftwaffe unit and was renamed into Luftwaffen-Bau-Bataillon 27/XI. In the summer of 1943 the bataillon operated in the Feldluftgau XXVI are which was in Riga, Latvia.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
