Nice zinc Wehrmacht Infanterie related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 1.Kompanie infanterie Regiment 579. This regiment was formed in late December 1940 and was part of the 206.Infanterie-Division. In April 1941 the regiment moved to Beglium to finish its training. In July 1941 the regiment was used as a coastal defence unit. It operated in the Panne, Belgium area.
In October 1942 the regiment was renamed into Grenadier Regiment 579 and in December of that year it moved to Russia. It operated in the Don and Nikopol area.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
