Very nice zinc World War 1 tag in used, but excellent condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to Karl Schrader who was born in the 19th of June 1898 and drafted in the 1.Kompanie Ersatz Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 74. This regiment was part of the 19.Infanterie-Division. This division saw it's first combat in Namen (Belgium) and Reims (France).
Along the way Karl must have switched units to the 3.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 603 and the last unit he served was the 11.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 79. This regiment was part of the 20.Infanterie-Division and fought in France, Poland, France, Russia, France and Belgium (Flanders).
