Very nice Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted/served within the Stammbatterie leichte Artillerie Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung (motorisiert) 33. This unit was formed in late August 1939 as Artillerie Ersatz Abteilung 33 in Darmstadt. It trained and supplied soldiers for Artillerie Regiments 33, 132, 140 and 556 and for Panzer Artillerie Regiments 33, 127, 140.
In April 1943 the unit became Artillerie Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung (mot) 33 and was used in September 1944 to form the II.Abteilung Artillerie Regiment Palm which became Artillerie Regiment 1462 in October 1944 as part of the 462.Volks-Grenadier-Division. This division and her units saw combat in Metz, France were it got destroyed in November 1944.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
