Very nice aluminium Luftwaffe Flak related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a NCO/CO who served within the Stab.I.Abteilung/Flak Regiment 26. The I.Abteilung of this regiment was formed in October 1936 in Dessau-Kochstedt. In October 1938 the I.Abteilung was used to form the II.Abteilung Flak Regiment 43. It saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland in Spetember 1939 and the France in May 1940. During the invasion of Russia it fell under the command of the Stab/Regiment General Göring as part of Panzergruppe 3.
A new I.Abteilung Flak Regiment 26 was formed in October 1938. It saw its first action during the invasion of France in May 1940 as part of the VI.Armeekorps. From June 1941 onwards it operated in central Russia were it got destroyed in July 1944 in Bobruisk.
