The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. The moment the photo was taken Albrecht was Korvettenkapitän and commander of U-68 which was part of the 2-Unterseebootsflotille.
Albrecht earned the Ritterkreuz in June 1942 and the Ritterkreuz with Eichenlaub in November 1942. Besides these awards Merten earned a lot more.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. Dated 21 January 1943.
