The moment the photo was taken Heinz was the commander of the III.Bataillon Grenadier Regiment 534.
Heinz earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold in December 1942, the Ritterkreuz in March 1943 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub in July 1944, by then as a Hauptman and commander of the II.Bataillon Panzer Grenadier Regiment 361 which fought on the Italian front.
The size of the photograph is 13cm*18cm. Dated 19.03.1943.
