The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. The photograph was taken when Fritz was the commander of the Panzer Lehr Division.
Fritz earned the Ritterkreuz in late December 1941 as commander of the Deutsches Afrikakorps. He earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold in late October 1942, the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub in July 1943 and the Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub und Schwwerten on the 20th of July 1944. Besides this Fritz earned a lot more awards/medals.
