The photograph shows overall normal signs of (storage) wear. It's complete with caption on the back. The moment the photo was taken Rudolf was Zugführer 7.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 308 which was part of the 108.Infanterie-Division.
Rudolf earned the Ritterkreuz on the 3rd of Septmeber 1942. He also earned the Eisernes Kreuz 1.Klasse (02.1942) and the Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse (11.1941).
Rudolf was killed in action on the eastern front on the 2nd of September 1943.
