The photo shows overall normal signs of storage wear. It's complete with (replaced) paper caption on the back. General Handloser was Chef des Wehrmachtsanitätswesens and General Oberstarzt. He had the most important medical postition within the Wehrmacht and Waffen-ss. The General attended a meeting on December 29, 1941, at which it was decided to conduct human experiments to test typhus vaccines at Buchenwald concentration camp.
This photo was taken just before he was awarded the Ritterkreuz des Kriegsverdienstkreuzes mit Schwertern.
