Nice aluminium Wehrmacht Artillerie related tag in used, but good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 8.batterie (schwere Feld Haubitze) Landwehr Artillerie Regiment 161. This regiment was formed in mid August 1939. Shortly after its formation, the regiment was divided between Ostpreussen. The III.Abteilung became part of Brigade Lötzen and was put into action during the invasion of Poland.
After the defeat of Poland the regiment was used to form Landwehr Artillerie Regiment 311 which was part of the 311.Infanterie-Division (former Brigade Lötzen).
The soldier carved in his own bloodgroup 'A'.
