The canteen is in overall good condition. Maker marked H.R.E ('Heinrich Ritter' from 'Esslingen') and dated '1942' on the back. Shows normal signs of use. Complete with webbing straps which are also in used but good and solid condition. The tips of the webbings straps are the less common square variants. The leather strap underneed the bakelite cup, has a small tear so must be handled carefully (see the last photo). The canteen comes with a bakelite cup which is maker marked and dated '1944'.
