The card shows overall normal signs of wear. Franz was a Offiziersbewerber und Kanonier within the 1.batterie SS-Flak Abteilung 5. This abteiling was formed in March 1941 as part of SS-Division 'Wiking'. Franz was killed in action in the Barabaschewka area when he was his by shrapnel.
