Zinc Wehrmacht Grenadier related ID-tag in worn condition.
The tag shows overall signs of wear, however it's solid. It belonged to a nco/co who served in the Stab.II.Bataillon Grenadier Regiment 203. The regiment was formed in October 1942 from Infanterie Regiment 203 and was part of the 76.Infanterie-Division. In February 1943 the regiment was destroyed in Stalingrad.
However it was rebuild in March 1943 in Bretagne, France. In February 1944 the II.Bataillon was used to form the Divisions-Füssilier-Bataillon 76.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype. Carved in by himself.
