Very nice Luftwaffe Flak related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the Nachrichtenzug II.Abteilung Flak Regiment 23. This regiment was formed in October 1935 and disbanned again in May 1937. It was formed again in August 1939 and saw its first combat in September 1939 during the invasion of Poland as part of the 10.Armee. After the Poland campaign it participated in the invasion of France that took place in May 1940. In June 1941 it participated in the invasion of Russia as part of the 23.Flak-Division.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
