The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of use. It belonged to a soldier who served in the '4.Batterie Flak Ersatz Abteilung 4'. This abteilung was formed in the August 1939 in Münster with 4 batteries. In 1941 it was converted in to schwere Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 4. It was stationed in Aschersleben until late 1942 and then moved to Iserlohn where it stayed until the end of the war.
The 'A' stands for the bloodtype of the soldier.
