The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served at the Luftnachrichtenkompanie Fliegerhorst Kommandantur Greifswald. This was a communication unit of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Greifswald.
This was the base of different Luftwaffe units such as Kampfgeschwader 152, Lehrgeschwader 1, 2, Kampfgeschwader 30, Nachtjagdgeschwader 5.
The 'O' on both sides of the tag on the back stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
