Death notice card of Josef Balk who died during the Normandy campaign in 1944.
The card shows overall normal signs of wear. In the additional information we found Josef was drafted in the Gebirgs Nebelwerfer Lehr und Ersatz Batterie 6. He ended up in the 4.batterie Schweres Wefer Regiment 14 which was formed in March 1944. It was part of Werfer-Brigade 9 and was moved to Normandy on the 12th of June 1944. On the 18th of July all the units that served under the brigade where destroyed during Operation Goodwood.
