The Wehrpass shows overall normal signs of wear. It's solid and complete with the portrait of Wilhelm Bündgen. Wihelm or Willy as he was called, stated in 2.Batterie Flak Ersatz Abteilung 6 in Hannover-Bothfeld. After just 2 months he switched to the 1.Batterie Heeres Flakartillerie Abteilung 280 (mot). He soon after switched to the 2.Batterie of Abteilung 280 where he served 6 months. In November he was transferred to 2.Batterie Heeres Flakartillerie Ersatz Abteilung 276 (Mot.) where he served approx 4 months and then switched to 2.Batterie Heeres Flakartillerie Abteilung (mot) 286 and spend little over 3 months in Russia as part of Heeresgruppe Mitte. From September 1942 he served within the Abteilung 276 again and during the rest of the war he stayed with this unit, serving in the Stab aswell as the Marschbatterie and Genesendenbatterie.
In September 1944 Abteilung 276 was mobilized and one 8,8cm Flak Batterie and 3 Grenadier companies where formed and renamed into Fla-Bataillon 276. From Oktober of that year the Abteilung was part of Division Nr.466 and probably saw action in the Bocholt-Dorsten area (near Dutch border). In the last stages of the war the bataillon was part of the 347.Infanterie-Division which fell under the 1.Armee. It saw action in the Saarpfalz area. Willy was promoted a gefreiten on 10.02.1942 and was promoted to Obergefreiten on 01.04.1943 According to the Wehrpass Willy was awarded the Kriegsverdienstkreuz (1 or 2 klasse?) on the 01.09.1944. Unfortunately pages 27-30 are gone, but the rest is present. The pass comes with Willy's Certificate of Discharge and another POW related small document.
