The document is in overall good condition. The Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2.Klasse was awarded on the 20th of April 1944 to ObergefreitenJohannes Nollen who served in the 1st Stab Abteilung of Grenadier Regiment 412. This regiment was also known as 'Sturm Regiment Narwa'. The regiment was part of the 227.Infanterie-Division and started participating the war in May 1940 in Holland and after that during the invasion of France. After France it was send to Russia and fought in areas like Wolchow, Leningrad, Narwa and Kurland. The medal was awarded on the 20th of April 1944 whilst stationing/fighting in Narwa.
