Nice worn dog tag from a soldier who served in the Flugabwehr Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 52.
The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. Its a pretty well preserved grounddug. The bataillon was formed in November 1940 in Bremen. As Flugabwehr Ersatz Bataillon 52. In April 1943 it became Flugabwehr Ersatz und Ausbildungs Bataillon 52. In September 1944 it was moved to the Netherlands and became part of the 180.Infanterie-Division. At that moment the bataillon had a strength of 515 men.
In 1944 and 1945 it fought in the Venlo area and Western Germany.
