The dog tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 'Schwere 1.Batterie Flak Abteilung 361'. This abteilung was formed in August 1939. It consisted out of 5 batteries. 1-3 Schwere and 5-6 leichte. In 1942 the unit was moved to Russia to the Krasnowardeisk area. Later in May 1943 it was stationed in the Uritzk area. In May 1944 the abteilung was moved to Nothern Italy where it also surrendered in May 1945.
