Very nice Luftwaffe dogtag in good condition that belonged to a soldier that served in the I or II.Ausbildungs Bataillon of Flieger Ausbildungs Regiment 12. This regiment was formed in April 1939 in Münster-Handorf. In August 1942 the regiment was renamed into Flieger Regiment 12 and 2 months later, in October, it became Luftwaffen-Jager-Regiment 23. It was now part of the Luftwaffen-Feld-Division 12 and from March untill October 1943 served in the area of Volkhov. In November 1943 the regiment was absorbed within the Heer and named Jäger-Regiment 23(L). The Division became known as the 12.Feld-Division(L). It saw combat in areas like Wolchow, Pleskau, Riga, Kurland and Danzig.
