Nice worn Wehrmacht Aufklärung related soldbuch + EKII award document.
The soldbuch is heavily worn, but complete with all pages and has loads of entries. Some of the pages are loose. It belonged to Obergefreiten Horst Kürten who was drafted in the Schützen Ersatz Bataillon 4. He was then placed in the 2.schwadron Aufklärungs Abteilung (mot) 341 which was part of the 311.Infanterie-Division. This division was disbanned in August 1940 and the Aufklärungs Abteilung became part of the 16.Infanterie-Division 'Der Windhund'. In April 1941 it operated in Hungary and in June 1941 it participated in the invasion of Russia were it fought in areas like Kiev, Kursk, Don and Rostow.
In 1942 Horst trained in the 4.Kompanie Kradschützen Ersatz Bataillon 7 and later within the Kradschützen Ersatz Bataillon 6. Somewhere in late 1943 or early 1944 he served in the Begleitkompanie 16.Panzer-Division.
The soldbuch comes with the Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse award document. It bares the signature of Generalmajor Johannes Streich.
