Nice brown leather Wehrmacht Artillerie related map case in used, but good condition.
The map case or 'Kartenmeldtasche' shows overall signs of wear. The leather is supple and solid. Both straps on the back are present. One is has a maker mark and is dated 1936. On the inside it's personally marked by Unteroffizier Terwart.
It's also unit marked 3.Batterie Artillerie Regiment 62. The I.Abteilung this batterie was in was formed in October 1936 in Bonn. In 1940 the abteilung and thus 3.Batterie was part of the 26.Infanterie-Division. It saw its first combat during the invasion of Luxemburg and then France. From mid 1941 it was put into action on the eastern front in areas like Orel, Donbogen, Kursk, Smolensk and Kowel.
