Nice Wehrpass that belonged to a soldier who served within the 9.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 630.

The Wehrpass shows overall signs of wear. It's solid and complete with all pages. Every page with interesting entries have been scanned. The pass belonged to Friedrich Westfeld. Friedrich was drafted in August 1939 in the 6.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 355. He served in this unit for 6 months and was then used to form the II.Bataillon Infanterie Regiment 630 in Februari 1940. This regiment was part of the 556.Infanterie-Division and was stationed near the border of France. On 17.6.1940 it fought in the area of the French town of Kuenheim (Kunheim) and after that marched to the area of Belfort where it served as an occupation force for a month (22.7.1940). In late July the regiment marched back to Germany and in August the Regiment was disbanned. Friedrich served his last week, before leaving the Wehrmacht in the 1.Schutzen Ersatz Kompanie 118.

Friedrich also served in the German army during World War 1. He served in Infanterie Regiment Nr.186. As part of the 208.Infanterie-Division this regiment fought a lot of battles in France in areas like the Somme and Cambrai.
During his time in this regiment Friedrich earned the Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse and the Ehrenkreuz fur Frontkampfer.
