Very nice Wehrmacht light infanterie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 7.Kompanie leichte Infanterie Regiment 218. This regiment was formed in December 1940 and part of the 99.leichten Infanterie-Division. It saw its first combat during the invasion of Russia and operated in the areas like Shitomir and Kiev.
In October 1941 the regiment was renamed into Jäger Regiment 218 and in November it was renamed into Gebirgsjäger Regiment 218. It was still part of the same division, but this division was now named the 7.Gebirgs-Division. It operated in Lappland and Norway.
