The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 5.Kompanie Nachrichten Ersatz Abteilung 25. This unit was formed in June 1940 in Josefstadt. It trained and supplied soldiers for different units. In September 1942 the unit was renamed into Nachrichten Ersatz Abteilung 5.
The 'B' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
