The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served within the 5.Fahr-Kolonne Nachschub Kolonnen Abteilung 612. This abteilung was formed in late August 1939 and was a so-called 'bespannte' abteilung or horse drawn. The abteilung was disbanned in early 1940 so it only existed a couple of months.
The 'AB' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
