Very nice zinc Wehrmacht MG Infanterie related tag in used, but very good condition.
The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who was drafted in the 4.MG-Kompanie Infanterie Ersatz Bataillon 94. This bataillon was formed in late August 1939. It trained and supplied soldiers for Infanterie Regiment 94 which was part of the 32.Infanterie-Division. This division saw its first combat during the invasion of Poland in September 1939. After that it moved west and in May 1940 it participated in the invasion of Belgium and France. In June 1941 it participated in Russia and fought in areas like Demjansk, Straja Russa, Plaskau and in the last stages of the war in Kurland.
The 'BA' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
