The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. Although broken, it's still in 1 piece. I belonged to a soldier who served in the 3.Kompanie Wach Bataillon 654. This regiment was formed in March 1940 as Infanterie Regiment 654 and was part of the 379.Infanterie-Division. In July 1940 the regiment formed Wach Bataillon 654, operated in Poland and in January 1941 was renamed into Landesschützen-Bataillon 637.
The 'O' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
