All documents in the grouping show normal signs of wear. It's named to Unteroffizier Kurt Refle who served in the 3.Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 436
The grouping consist out of;

  • Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse award document. Dated 1 July 1940. Signed by General der Infanterie Karl Strecker, wearer of the Ritterkreuz and Deutsches Kreuz in Gold. During this time Unteroffizier Refle served in Infanterie Regiment 226. 
  • Eisernes Kreuz 1.Klasse award document. Dated 29 May 1942. 
  • Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber. Dated 3 July 1942. 
  • Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz. Dated 11 Juli 1942. 
  • Death notice letter to the wife of Refle. Written/typed by the Kompanieführer of Refle were he explaines how he was killed and were he's burried. 
  • Personalized Commemorative booklet 'Give your dead a home'.  

Infanterie Regiment 436 was formed in October 1940 and was part of the 132.Infanterie-Division. This division operated in Yugoslavia and from June 1941 it operated in Russia. It fought in areas like Kiev, the Krim, Sewastopol and Leningrad.
