The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 3.Feldfernkabel Kompanie Luftnachrichten Regiment 10 (motorisiert). This regiment was formed in March 1940. It operated in Arlon, Belgium and from June 1940 in France. In April 1941 it moved east and from June 1941 onwards it operated in Russia, but in early 1942 moved back to France. In late 1944 the I.Abteilung operated in the area of Weidenbrück.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
