1.Fspr.Luftnach. H. mot.4 EKM (Heer)

The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall normal signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served in the 1.Fernsprech-Kompanie Luftnachrichten H. motorisiert Abteilung 5. This abteilung was formed in late August 1939 and consisted only out of 2 companies. The Abteilung was intended as an interface between the Army (Heer) and the Luftwaffe. During the invasion of Poland it was part of Koluft 5 (Kommandeur der Luftwaffe) under the command of the 5.Armee. During the invasion of the Low Countries it was part of Koluft 12 under the command of the 12.Armee and during the invasion of Russia it was part of Koluft 11 under the command of the 11.Armee. 
In May 1942 the abteilung was disbanned.
The 'H' on the tag means that these detachments were deployed with the air force units etc. subordinate to the army.
The 'A' on both parts of the tag stands for the soldier's bloodtype.
