The tag or 'Erkennungsmarke' shows overall signs of wear. It belonged to a soldier who served at the Luftnachrichtenkompanie Fliegerhorst Kommandantur Greifswald. This was a communication unit of the HQ of the Fliegerhorst Greifswald.
This was the base of different Luftwaffe units such as Kampfgeschwader 152, Lehrgeschwader 1, Kampfgeschwader 30, Nachtjagdgeschwader 5.
